A Day in the Life of an Evangelist and the Importance of Submitting to God

I interviewed my friend Dan and what’s fascinating is that he disciples a group of young men just like him and they head to Filinvest park and evangelize the youth.
He is hungry and eager to share the gospel because he believes the Word of God will save the world. It is his purpose to help save people. He believes God uses people to share the Word. “Sinong maniniwala kung walang nagsasabi? My desire is to share how Jesus loves us so much.”
I was touched by how there were many elements to Dan’s story that resembled my own. Living deep in pride and wanting to prove something to the world, and yet … Having no idea that the purposes for our lives would be led to God. I was touched by the realities that were shared and moved by how his relentless faith in the Word and what God says had defied the odds in spite of impossible situations. Thank you Dan for your honesty, your depth, and for your love for the Word and for your love for God. This inspired me so much. It was an honor to interview you.
1:25: “What was your first God encounter?”
4:08: “Anong bang purpose ko talaga?”
Matthew 6:33: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness.”
8:08 “What inspires your mission to evangelize?”
Matthew 9:37: “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few.”
Matthew 16:24: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
9:00: Matthew 28:19(The Great Commission): “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” ❤️
Matthew 6:20: “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither mother nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal”
13:17: “Ayoko talaga yun maagang nagsusuffer. My heart is for the next generation … The highlight for me is the younger generation.”
14:34: “A big challenge for the people who want to obey the Great Commission.
The challenge is finances. If you are not built in the Word of God, and you try to follow Him, the enemy will test you, “Kung magpatuloy ka ba, o hindi? Kasi bakit? Everyone needs finances.
15:17: The big challenge of most Christians, if they’re not built in the Word of God, when a small challenge comes, they will leave the calling.”
15:29: Dan shares a touching part of his story where he is faced with the reality of his own financial conditions and a call to serve and still chooses to serve because there could be souls he misses to help save for that day.
16:26: “Sometimes ganun yun realidad ng world. The fact, but the truth is, when you’re built in the Word of God, you know your inheritance.”
16:59: I challenge every follower. Kung may dreams kayo. “Gusto ko magpagamit kay Lord.” Hold that promise and stand in the Word of God. Kung anong promise ni Lord.
“My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
17:29: “Kung magevangelize ako, sayang yung kita ko. Sayang yung sahod. If that’s your thinking, you miss a point. That God has blessed you already. So I challenge each one of us now … That’s the time your faith becomes real. Lord, I believe in You, I trust in You. Lord, if marami mang nawawala. But kailangan kong sumunod.”
18:01: “Yun moment na hindi ka built sa Word ni Lord. Gusto mo lang. Naencourage ka lang. “Ah si Nicko nag-evangelize, grabe naman, sige nga. Sundan ko. Tapos dumating sa point na drain ka na. Na overwhelm ka. Na burn-out ka na. Kasi bakit? You’re doing with your inggit lang. Hindi mo ginagawa with all of your heart.”
18:49: “Kasi pag ginagawa natin with all of our heart. Balibaliktarin ba ng mundo. Pahiya ka man don. Pahiya ka man dito. Pahirapan ka man. Pahirapan doon. Pahirapan dito.
18:57: You stand strong. Why? Kasi nakabuild ka dun sa Word.
Psalms 1:3: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of the water.”
19:15: So I challenge everyone if you have a passion or desire or calling for evangelism or whatever calling that God has for you. Put yourself, build yourself — in the Word of God. Because when we are aligned in the Word, we never miss a point of the Lord’s calling in our lives.
20:44: “How is old Dan and how is the Dan now prior to following Christ and now following Christ?”
23:03: “Pride lang pala. All of those roots is pride. Gusto kong yumaman. Travel dito. Travel doon. Babae dito. Babae doon. Magagandang babae doon. That’s the mindset of the world. Hindi naman ako malabisyo. Pero yung intention is bad.”
24:46: “So now, when I follow Christ, I surrender all. Lord, I follow You. I surrender all the pride. All the selfishness. I’m a drop of water at binuhos ko sa harapan ni Jesus yung lahat na kung sino ako.”
27:23: “Thank you God that You give me a heart of being humble, open, and teachable and a heart of being generous. Not just in money. Generous in the area of… This. I love to share what God is depositing in me.”
28:00: “So if there’s one thing you’ve learned in your walk with God, that you feel, you’ve really like put to heart? Or something valuable you’ve learned in your walk, what would it be? Just one thing. This is something I always have to lean on as a believer.”
28:24: “The very important thing is to submit. Submission to His authority is the most humble thing. The Bible says humble yourself in the sight of the Lord … Submission is… May kinikilala kang above sayo.”
James 4:10: “Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
